LUCKY DIP POLITICS! ALL LOST FOR WANT OF A QUARTER?

VAKTANTRA: WEAVING VOICES OF INDIA TOGETHER TO GATHER THE FRUITS OF FREEDOM!

"PAPER" ROSES? CAN YOU SMELL THE ROSES?
Red Rose, Growing
"for the roses, Had the look of flowers that are looked at." T.S.ELIOT

VAJPAYEE,  THE LOST VICEROY OF INDIA.

"ALL SOLD OUT FOR A QUARTER?"
OR,  IN OTHER WORDS,
FOUR QUARTETS AND A QUARTER LEFT!

Time it is said,  is all that is left
To be filled to the quarters
With no quarters left.
[After Jaswant Singh's extravaganza?
In distributing the on-paper-only bonanza
To one and all and sundry,  left
not an eye dry in all country
With noses running awry
from smelling the roses?
In the Garden of People's Pulses
Of Opportunistic Opulences.

But sadly,  sadly,  cried the thornbird,
Paper roses have no fragrances!
And leave no traces
Either in the purses or the bourses
When there are no quarters left.
To be asked or given.

For when Time's taken
For a joy-ride
But instead ends up
on a hop,  skip and jump
sop,  trip and prime-pump
bump-ride
It cannot be given
A rollback
Even on a Camel-Ink traceback
to a quick de-link
to Quink-Ink
however fast or quick you may think
Of one more bonanza to make a comeback
floated or bloated
On the trial balloon of a big-eye extravaganza
To the dada-dadi bond
or that nana-nani on the rebound
or every baby-baby still in the pond!
or whatever addity you may add-on
to the half percent extra you may allow em
retain behind their wisdomless winsome toothsome
that you may think might tickle
their toothless tastebuds with!
Time's a stern steersman!
So watch it!

But what we may ask will happen
When it is a spiritless matter
of all being sold out for a quarter?
Of a free spirit sold by the pint!

By this or that united opportunitistics                                  of distillaries or breweries?

A quarter!  A quarter!  Or a quart
Of what?  You might well ask
A pint of pain,  or a point of patience?
Waiting to be let in,  or held in abeyance
by  a stretch of imagination standing guard
over a reality that is padlocked in the cellar
and hollering all over,  beggin' askance.
At all this unseemly obeisance
being paid at the alter of a vanguard
Carrying forward, looking backward
Bringing Time into a terrible trouble
With it's own keeper
that knows no masters
much less has master-keys
to let in imposters unimpeded access
to grub it in the till,  till it is still!
Time, to let out the deposits
before they are done
Down to their last quarter!

So what is it?
At the point of the pointless?
Pain or patience?
Which or what is it?
That might do the trick?

Not that!  Not this!
But truly mark this:
Time's a tough taskmaster
That don't know to kowtow to no dadas
With or without dalda-dol-drums
Or strings being pulled and thrummed
To keep all down,  all down

"Like ring-a-rig-a-roses,

pocket full of posIes"

while what's still "not showing"

on 'CORRECTED AND UP-to-DATED'

ELECTORAL ROLLS

is:  still as bone dry as the dry pool in front of Hotel Viceroy

[read FOUR QUARTETS OF T.S.ELIOT to know more!]

of the far from failproof spoof spool

Up for grabs!
By the Indian crabs.

Being all sold out for a quarter.

What's a quarter less or more? they ask us
When our forexes are like the flying foxes
Floating the flood of feelgood all over
Making us grasping with greed and avarice
To feel better and buttered up
With dalda-dol-drums and thrumming our strings
To be all pulled down
into the spool of Vice-
Roy Ahoy!  Vajpayee!
The time to pull the rug
From under your feet has come.

A 'present' has awarded you
a full five-year term
But for want of a quarter
It might well end short
Of a history in the making
for want of a quarter.

But,  wisdom is always
late in the flowering
Avijja or ignorance
is the cause--  said Gautama Buddha
of dukkha or suffering.
Tanha or craving or attachment
To a phassa or contact with a kursi
Because of a base upadana
or grasping or clinging
May bring in the ringing
Of the curtains down
Upon history in the making.

As then:

"For want of a shoe-nail the kingdom was lost!"

So now?

For want of a quarter the wisdom was lost!
So if you still have a quarter to spare
You would run the full term
Without tanha or upadana or much phassa
Never mind the egging on
of those without a minute to spare
You would stay on course
And complete the course
If you wanted the wisdom not to be lost
For want of a quarter!

If you would give in
To a better counsel
coming from a different quarter
of advice,  then here's T.S. ELIOT
in the FOUR QUARTETS:

'Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present.
All time is unredeemable.'

And further for want of a quarter now
Or a quick hastening toward an end
For want of a quarter now!
here's his further revelation:

'What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of specuation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, w hich is always present.'

So Ahoy! Vajpayee to the City of Pearls
enjoy the ambience of Hotel Viceroy
But do not give in to the urgeings
of underlings
and egging on and goings on
Of a few who haven't a minute to spare
In their hasty rush to the HARDWARE stores
SHOPPING FOR FEVICOL SPRAYS!

For as with Eliot hear
"The unheard music hidden in the shrubbery,
And the unseen eyebeam crossed, for the roses
Had the look of flowers that are looked at."

But you never did look at the roses given you?

Or weren't shown to be seen to be seeing or smelling by the press photowallahs

Who want it all brought to a quicker end to suspense

For want of a quarter the wisdom to be sold

ALL OUT FOR A QUARTER?

So why didn't you look at the roses?

or what cross beams remained unseen?

"And the unseen eyebeam crossed, for the roses
Had the look of flowers that are looked at."

So if you haven't chucked them away
Pick them up and take a good whiff
At their fragances which might give you the wisdom
Not to chuck it all off
From the making of history
FOR WANT OF A QUARTER
OF TIME.

And VakTantra shall weave no more
Sorry or Sagacious beads of ad-wise!

Here's leaving you with T.S.ELIOT'S
FOUR QUARTETS once more:

'Go,  go,  go,  said the bird:  human kind
Cannot bear very much reality.'

AND here's a pearl of wisdom

and a rose of advice:

SAY A FEW CONCERNED AND CARING WORDS

ABOUT ALL THESE BOGUS VOTERS THAT HAVE

GUSSOED ONTO THE ELECTORAL LISTS

IF THE POST-MODERN MEANING OF VICEROY

IS NOT FOUND TO BE TOO APT!

IN THAT THE SOVEREIGN IS BEING RUN

BY THE DEPUTIES GONE ALL AWRY

AND THERE IS NO ONE CLAIMING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS SORRY STATE OF PATENT LACK OF PATERNITY

PATTERN

BEING FOISTED ON SO MANY NON-BEINGS

BUT STILL BEING BLESSED

WITH THE SONS OF THE SOILS

INALIENABLE POWER TO VOTE ANYWAY!

DON'T DISSOLVE
THE PEOPLE'S CENTRAL ASSEMBLY!
A QUARTER TOO EARLY
FOR WHAT'S AT STAKE
IS THE MAKING OF HISTORY
FOR WANT OF A QUARTER
THE WISDOM MUST NOT BE LOST
OR, FOR AHOY!  VAJPAYEE

TO MADE TO BE
THE LOST VICEROY OF INDIA!

[VICEROY:  formerly PERSON GOVERNING
AS THE DEPUTY OF A SOVEREIGN
present meaning:  person governing
as sovereign but being driven round the bend
 by THE DEPUTIES
AND SUZERAINTIES BESET

WITH UTMOST UNCERTAINTIES!!!!!]
